SEO Gold Coast – Get More Leads & Customers

An expert SEO on the Gold Coast is one of the best digital marketing tools your business can have. It’s important to have a website, but it’s much more important to have a website that receives visitors. As I always say – a website without SEO is like having business cards printed that you never hand out. You’ll have a website, but no one will see it.

It’s not enough to come up in Google when you type in your business name. You want to reach beyond those that already know you and reach those that don’t know you. Because let’s face it, if someone is searching Google via your business name, they’re probably going to be customers already!

An expert SEO on the Gold Coast is the answer to being found in Google for the services and products you offer, how new customers discover you, and how your business grows. And, that’s what we’re all about here at Grow Advisory Group – helping Gold Coast and Tweed Heads businesses grow.

If your goal is to increase leads that you can convert to customers, SEO is one of the best digital marketing tools to help you reach this goal.

Today, we’ll take an in-depth look at SEO and discuss how our in-house SEO on the Gold Coast can help your business get more leads through their website and social media platforms.

What is SEO

SEO standard for Search Engine Optimisation. It’s the complex process of improving a website’s organic Search Engine rankings without relying on Google Ads or other forms of paid advertising.

A website is ranked based on what Google’s current algorithm deems to be the best results for any given query. If Google considers it to be the best answer to a search query, it will show high in the search engine result pages.

The ultimate goal of SEO is to have a website rank for the highest searched keywords (relevant to your business). For example, if you are a mechanic on the Gold Coast’s, you want to be #1 in Google’s rankings when someone searches Mechanic Gold Coast or Auto Repairs Gold Coast. Having your website show in Googles “Local Map Pack” is the holy grail. Having it show as the first position below the Map Pack is the next best thing.

Google Search Engine Results Page

You will see how sites are displayed on Google’s search engine results pages (SERP) in the screenshot above.

The top four listings have ‘Ad’ before next to them, signifying they’re paid listings, Google Ads. While many assume these sites would get the most clicks, that is actually far from the truth.  In a click study by Bright Local, only 14% of all clicks on the SERP went to the top PPC ads.

Savvy Googler users know these are paid listings and are not the best results for any given query. As such, the Local Map Pack listings and organic listings get far greater clicks. Why? Because, if we go back to what SEO is, a website is ranked based on what Google’s current algorithm deems to be the best results for any given query.

Listings shows in the Local Map Pack are formed by having a well optimised Google My Business page and a well-optimised website. Without a Google My Business page, your website will not appear in the Local Map Pack, which is why having a Google My Business listing is one of the most important SEO tools. In the click study, about 30% of clicks went to this section of the SERP.

The Organic listings start directly below the Local Map Pack and are the true organic listings – The first website here, in this case, www.mrmechanicalcentre.com.au is the #1 website ranked for the query ‘Mechanic Gold Coast’. Between 40-50% of all clicks in the click study went to these organic listings, with the top spots grabbing most of those clicks.

It’s SEO that allows a website to show in the Local Map Pack and in the #1 place.

What’s involved in SEO

The first thing to know about SEO is that it’s not easy. In fact, it’s the hardest form of digital marketing out there because the rewards are so high. It takes a lot of time, knowledge, writing, tweaking, and testing to see what works best and to improve rankings. And, what many fail to understand is that you then have to maintain once you do achieve #1 rankings. It’s like having a diet/weight goal. Once you reach your goal weight, you have to sustain it then.

The practice of SEO does both these things. First, you improve your rankings by checking off as many of the ranking factors that you can – (and there are literally hundreds of them), then you have to do SEO maintenance work to ensure your rankings hold once you reach your goals.

As I mentioned, there are literally hundreds of ranking factors. You can see a list of the most important 200 factors here on backlino.com. Ranking factors are things like having the keyword in the domain name, the right content length, a solid internal linking structure, keywords in your H1 tags – these are just five!  Again, hundreds of factors contribute to how Google ranks a keyword for any given query.

I like to break my ranking factors into three groups – on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and technical SEO.

  • On-page SEO includes ranking factors to do with the website itself, such as the five I mentioned above.
  • Off-page SEO includes ranking factors external to the website, such as link building, content marketing, social media, reviews, podcasts, etc., which help the website rank.
  • Technical SEO covers the most complex ranking factors such as site speed, structural data, canonicalisation, XML sitemaps, Hreflang, etc.

As you can see, SEO is far greater than dotting your I’s and crossing your T’s on the website side of things. You have to have a well-optimised website, having a wide range of off-page ranking factors, and ensure all the technical elements are taken care of.

Only when you have addressed these three groups can you expect to reach the top 10 positions on Google.

I told you, SEO is hard. But it shouldn’t make you choose PPC marketing over SEO. SEO does work, and the benefits are well worth it. However, you have to have a top SEO on the Gold Coast looking after your website. For this, turn to Grow Advisory Group.

How do I choose SEO on the Gold Coast?

SEO is a technique surrounded by a cloud of smoke and mirrors because the general public doesn’t know what’s involved or how a website ranks. Therefore, trying to find an expert SEO on the Gold Coast who is an actual SEO expert – someone who understands and practices on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and technical SEO, not just one of the three, or worse, someone who says they’re an SEO and has no clue at all, can be difficult if you yourself don’t know what to look for.

The best advice I can give is to ask an SEO on the Gold Coast the following:

  • What is your experience in SEO?
  • Can you provide case studies or examples of rankings you have achieved for other businesses?
  • What are the precise services you do each month for my money?
  • Will you send me monthly reports detailing the progress of the SEO work?
  • What on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and technical SEO ranking factors does your campaign cover?
  • How long till I should start seeing results?
  • Can you guarantee #1 position? – this is a trick question – if they say yes, run the other way and keep looking. Anyone who can promise #1 organic rankings is lying. It should never be promised as not even the best SEO in the world can guarantee this – unless they have an unlimited budget, and I’m taking $10k+ a month

Conclusion

If you’d like to get more leads from your website, then investing in an expert SEO on the Gold Coast will help you reach this goal. SEO is the art of getting a website to rank high in Google’s organic rankings (or Local Map Pack) for queries specific to your business.  It’s how a site rankings #1 for Mechanic Gold Coast without entering the name of the mechanic, and it offers a much higher click-through rate than PPC Marking.

SEO, however, isn’t easy. It’s very complex, and there are literally hundreds of ranking factors that contribute to a website’s rankings, including on-page, off-page, and technical SEO.

If you’d like to see your website rankings improve, traffic to your website increase, and receive more phone calls and online enquiries than ever before, then SEO is the answer.
